I am going to M and S later on so will report on the free bottle of Cava with 3 party food items offer that started today.

Lidl had reduced their champagne down to £9.99 last week. According to Which magazine it had compared well to other supermarket brands.

Tbh for £10 you're better of buying a prosecco. Waitrose have a nice one on offer for £6.99 - tastier than some champagnes imo.
All the supermarkets seem to bring out these unheard of champagnes at Christmas to sell at half price.
The only decent offer I've picked up is the Heidsieck Dry Monopole Blue Top - genuinely nice champs.

M&S cava is vile. We bought a few bottles a couple of years ago and vowed never again. A friend brought one to lunch this Christmas and it is still as bad.

My mistake. it was actually well-known brands. Veuve Cliquot, Moet, Lanson Black Label.

Got back from M and S - stacks of choice including THREE different types of Cava (including a rose) plus other wines and soft drinks.

Equally - stacks of food packs in the offer - some at £2.99, £3.49, £3.99.

Can get an £8.49 bottle of Cava and 3 packs of food for £8.97 all in.

I can vouch for the M&S champagne being very nice, I was given a bottle for Christmas by the boss, it went down very well in my house
