Car insurance quotes, to include accident or not?

I know that sounds odd, so let me explain.
1 car at home, husband main driver, me the 2nd driver. Husband has the car to get to work at which that is where it stays during the day.
He then gets into a company van and delivers mobile communication equiptment all over the country. This year he had an accident at which a car pulled out in front of him and hit the side of his van.
Now in terms of insurance when he's working, its the companies insurance, nothing to do with our own personal insurance. He simply reported the accident to work and the company dealt with it, all the company vans are on lease to the company.
However we're confused on what we do with our personal insurance on our car. Do we need to say he's had an accident or not?
Of course we didn't report the accident to our insurance as of course it didn't involve our car. We're just looking for quotes you see as our insurance is due for renewal soon.
Thanks if anyone knows stuff about these situations.

Yes you must tell them. It dosen't matter what vehicle it was or who's insurance coverd it, you must declare all accidents.0

There's a wonderful database called CUE which has a record of any reported claims/incidents whether they were paid out on or not. Many insurers run something called Hunter too which (from past experience of Insurers) is run every night and pulls back discrepancies based on the information you submit to Insurers and what their records hold.
It's not worth it because if they cancel your policy, you'll struggle to get Insurance again.0 -
What exactly is the question asking ?

Great, so our insurance for the year is going to jump up. Was hoping that cos he's on insurance with work it would come under that policy and not our own. Run the risk of every year our personal insurance going up, think he needs a less risk job, lol
Editing to just ask: I take it we just need to report the accident, not put it down as claiming?Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
A claim is made by the person who CLAIMS the insurance is responsible for the loss they have made.
You can not "claim" on anyone else's contract, they have to do it.
Next: What is an accident ?
If you are the victim of someone's negligence and they are 100% responsible, then who has had an accident ? you or the person who caused it ?
When you want to make a claim, they become very legal indeed and use terms as loss and consequential loss, they have no interest in accidents.
But when they want your money, they deem themselves to have a right to know if you have been a victim of someone else's consequential loss and charge you for the unfortunate situation, this is against principle of English law "you shall not suffer harm or loss without recourse"
If you premium is loaded, get it in writing, how much for how long and send it to the other driver as an invoice for uninsured consequential losses .
They can have one, or the other, but they can not have both.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

We contacted our insurance, who yes said we needed to make them aware. But that it wouldn't go down as a claim on our insurance as it didn't involve our car or any other vehicle on our policy.
As the accident wasn't my husbands fault, no extra premium was put onto our insurance payment. Phew...Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160
