I have just tried about 12 "chic lit" books and two were accepted (for 30p each!!). I also tried putting in a couple of codes from Wilbur Smith and !!!!!! Francis books but neither of them were any good either.

I have another massive box upstairs to go through next but I am not expecting much more luck but you never know.

    Thanks for the link OP.

I'd put them on eBay. Might be a bit of hassle, but I'd rather give a book to the charity shop, or as a gift than take less than £1.

The problem with that is if you list them for over £0.99p it cost money to list and no guarantee of selling them. Popular novels are a nightmare to shift on EBay, so many of them at dirt cheap prices and some with free P&P too, not worth it.

Zapper is good for getting rid of books you no longer need, they don't tend to purchase the popular novels either.

Carboot sale is the best place for them, and even then at a really knock down price, usually 3 for £1.

Every little helps, all the 30 pences add up, Zapper have accepted a number of books (36) from me today and I got offered £29.24. Just got to find a box to pack them in now.

I've just been on zapper and got quite a few books it's accepted - the ones worth the most were old photography text books and a book on the mini (worth over £7 on its own!) Other ones accepted were a few autobiographies and fiction books from Stephen King to Terry Pratchett (recent editions) those these were often lower, some at 30p each. Gone through all my books indoors so now I just have to battle through all the stuff in the shed to find the books that didn't sell last time we did a carboot sale.

*Edited to say I've just tried 'webuybooks' too and they don't seem to have quite as wide a range and many of the books that both websites accepted were worth less on here, however I found a few that were worth more (one a fair bit so - zapper offered 30p and webuybooks offered £4.09), there were also 3 books webuybooks accepted that zapper didn't. I'm now at 8 books on webuybooks for £16 and 17 books on zapper for £21.50.

  • Thanks for all messages on this thread - I have just made £30 on Zapper. Took ages tho as they didn't like lots of my books. Was determined to make multiple of £10 so stuck at it! :j
