Order cancellation on eBay?

Options
I have bought a "buy now" item on eBay just to find out that it ships without power cable and driver CD-ROM. I now want to cancel it. It has not shipped yet. What are my rights?

Check for seller return policy - was the information about power cable and CD ROM missing from the listing? Or do they never come with these items? Driver CD I really wouldn't be worried about, I expect you could find the drivers online - is the power cable proprietary?

If it's a business seller, contact them saying you wish to cancel under DSR
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

if it ships without a power cable it must be powered using USB.

If it's a standard kettle lead then its exclusion is hardly a valid deal breaker. And unless the item is shipped new and with a driver disc there is no reason for one to be included.

If the listing said that the two items weren't included then the seller has done nothing wrong.

Here is a link to the item.

All other eBay sellers I looked at previously sell it with cable and CD-ROM. I must have been blinded by the price.

The listing does not exclude the cable and CD-ROM which it probably should as it is usually standard but usually also specifically listed.

Have you asked if the lead and CD is included? Dont think youll need the lead anyway unless youre trying to power an unpowered external drive or receipt printer or similar.

Business seller so your DSR rights apply if you want to cancel.

"If an item is received damaged, seller must be notified within 2 business days of this damage. 5%-15% restocking fee will be charged if item is NOT defective or damaged"

I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole if they are this ignorant about your rights.

I'm confused, why would a Port Express card that plugs into a laptop need a power cable, it gets its power from the laptop???

Are these not the cards that just slot into the laptop? I didn't think they need a power cable.

I'm wondering the same thing. However I bet there is not enough power from the port to power USB 2 (for charging ipods etc).
