Can you really get them to take a bed out? The first time we went, we got a 3 bed luckily and hubby just put one on top of the other but last time we only had a 2 bed and it was a nightmare. Was going to try upgrading to a 3 bed if that was possible but might not have to.

Every time we stay at a Haven site, we go to the Hire Shop and ask them to take a single bed out of the twin room so we can put in a travel cot. They have always done it within an hour. All you need to give them is your caravan number and location. If you do not want to wait in for them, then just tell them which bed you want them to take out and they will do it for you. Hope this helps!!!

Same here for Haven. Not so much luck on a Park Resorts site in 2010 though, turned out their beds were fixed structures (wooden built onto walls) so they couldn't be removed, we ended up with the travel cost in the living room (not ideal).

Hi all - I have read much of this thread, but a question regarding the sun holidays, we have to choose so many parks and dates, and as we are relying on trains to get us to/from our holiday destination are there any tips? We have been collecting coupons out of the paper from day one, and have the booking form (time 2) so the first available day to get the holiday form sent off will be on this wednesday. We are hoping to go to Dawlish and I believe there are 2 parks available. Trains will be £24 return from where we are which will be fine and it will be our, by then, 2 year old's DD first getaway. Will writing a cheque for £38 and posting it first class signed for on wednesday morning be the fastest way for us to do this? Obviously we wouldnt mind going somewhere else similar that also wasnt too far/expensive for trains.

We also plan to purchase 2 passes for total just under £10 and the insurance for the week. I think all in all for the 3 of us to go to Dawlish is £82.50 plus £24 train tickets... this seems very cheap compared to other things we have glanced at over the last couple of months,

Weather isn't too important to us as its all about our DD, she'd be happy with a slide

Any other tips people can give?

    Regards,
    Spike

Edit: our DD should be fine in a small bed, so are we best just going for the standard accommodation? Is bedding depending on the resort? A colleague I work with said they always take their own duvets but this would be hassle on a train lol

do you find out straight away if you can have your 1st choice
im getting muddled finding the answers between the 2 threads lol
is it right i cant upgrade to gold at butlins?
  • You still need Monday & Tuesday's code words.

    Here's the online booking site:

    https://www.ukholidaysinthesun.co.uk/

it says it opens on Tues, but if it opens sooner and someone guesses Tuesdays code word then you'll be able to book then. You can book online with your priority code and get instant confirmation via email of the booking.

    Don't know about Butlins.

We have only ever been allowed to upgrade to Silver with the Sun Holidays.

If you haven't got a Priority Booking Form then the quickest way to do it is as you say i.e. posting the codes to The Sun asap.

I have two young children and I personally always go for an upgrade, but many people don't. It comes down to personal choice. A lot of people just use the caravan as a base and tour around, so don't mind basic accomodation, but because my youngest is into everything and we often spend a fair bit of time in the caravan, I always try and upgrade.

We have been on several Sun holidays and see many people with their duvets in the car. However, we always hire linen from the site because I always pack way too much stuff and would never have room in the boot for the duvets. The linen provided has always been fine. If you did have a problem, then I'm sure the site would sort it out. Hope this helps!!!
