That's a little bit clearer though still liable to different interpretations.

e.g. I'm fairly happy that my 4 x 250w Suntech 'Black Pearl' panels should have a maxumum rating of 4.00kw but since Suntech make a big deal of their 'positive tolerance' it's just possible that some 'jobsworth' might decide that they really ought to be considered as being just over 4.00. Similarly, my SunnyBoy 4000TL is rated at 4.00kw but again is claimed to be able to deliver slightly in excess of that. I shan't lose a lot of sleep over the chances of being subjected to a full investigation !;)

GMT Morning / BST Afternoon Eric.

Hopefully by the time any jobsworth decides to spoil your sleep, you'll be able to point out that in addition to current system losses, you'll also anticipate a future drop in panel performance. If after 10 years the panels have lost 5%, then that's 200Watts off peak anyway.

I'd like to think that an element of common sense would be applied. Didn't say it would, just like to think that .......

    Mart.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.

Suspect that 'common sense' will be a long time coming . . .

Incidentally, changing the clocks doesn't affect when noon actually occurs - that's still determined by when shadows are shortest and we've another half an hour of 'forenoon' left yet (even more in Wales).

    Good Morning ;)

    Total Installed Capacity
means the maximum capacity at which an Eligible
Installation could be operated for a sustained period
without causing damage to it (assuming the Eligible Lowcarbon
Energy Source was available to it without
interruption), a declaration of which is submitted as part
of the processes of ROO-FIT Accreditation and MCScertified
    Registration;
    So, DNC=TIC
Yes so I read it as
DNC=TIC = max. AC inverter output
or total panels kWP (minus sys. losses) only if < inverter max. AC output.

"Eligible Lowcarbon Energy Source" in this case is the PV panels

I'm struggling to understand some of the more technical points in this thread, so I'm not sure if that is a typo or not.
BTW I wanted Suntech 250s but my installer wasn't able to lay his hands on any.

Sorry, it should of course have read 4kw worth or 16 panels.

    I'll amend it.
