  • Morning Mrs Happy, just had an opportunity to catch up with your weekend posting !! What are we both like, 3am postings, pain in the bum hubbies , great excitement over blue kettle lights and rice pudding !!? :rotfl:

Poor old you ,sounds like we are both suffering on the snoring front with our darling Hubbies ! Mr Pinot so innocently tells me to move him if he is snoring ! Now ,he is about 15 / 16 stone and I am about 8 stone, that is therefore a feat in itself given his lead weight like state when sleeping. Don't they drive you mad !!:D

Mr Happys quite innocent financially draining mishaps have made me laugh, Im sorry. I know its not funny really , but I can just envisage him breaking is glasses and you seething inwardly at him, while he is completely oblivious to the whole scenario ? Do you think one day you will show him this diary ? ! :D

Great news re the rice pudding, everybody loved mine I made last week and I felt so proud of myself.:D I just made the basic mix in the slow cooker from the back of the packet but the coconut milk suggestions ( or desiccated) sound lovely, so I might just give that a try today .

Off to catch up on everyones diaries now. Happy Monday xx

Hi Mrs Happy and all your followers

Well just opened your diary for a catch up and saw the rice pud conversations...I stopped reading and now have some starting off! Can't wait! Looks cheap too as I went for the recipe you used with no cream..altho I will add in some nutmeg. Have also seen some mention on these threads of making cakes in a SC...has anyone done that? Can't imagine it but seems worth a go!

Had a lunch of LOs. Off to bake cookies and then collect DDs from school. Can hear a chicken kicking off...so must go..hopefully it's an egg rather than a fox about!!!

  • Definitely going to make the rice pudding tomorrow. I don't think we've had it in over 4 years as Mr F doesn't like it, says it reminds him of school dinners. :rotfl:Don't know what's wrong with him, I used to love school dinners.

I'm another one with a snoring hubbie and often find myself on the computer at 3.00 a.m. in the morning. Usually catching up on emails or diaries or friends in the UK on Facebook. Hey, at least there are some advantages to his snoring. :D

My sympathies! Mr H also weighs a lot more than me so physically shoving him around (tempting as it is!) isn't an option. I think I've infiltrated his subconscious though - I growl 'rolllll overrr' in my deepest, fiercest voice and he flips like a kitten! He then stays quiet for about ten minutes (just enough for me to nod off) before it all starts again. It's quite a double-act we've got going on!

I'm not really sure if I will every show him this diary. I've wondered about that myself..... Probably not, but you never know. Does Mr P know about yours?

Ooh, how was the pud?? I bet it's on your diary so I will go and have a look! I took some to work today for lunch. Rice pud seems such an MSE 'thing', doesn't it? I'm half expecting to walk into work one day and see a colleague putting one in the fridge and we will both nod wisely at each other, tap the side of our noses and murmer 'MSE, yeah?'! I really hope so!

Hope you got an egg and it wasn't a fox. We only have one chicken left now and she (Debbie) hasn't laid an egg since all her friends were taken by foxes over a year ago. I think she's on some sort of protest and blames me for the foxes!

There's a definite theme running through this thread. Husbands and rice puddings. I think if it went to a vote we would all side with the rice puddings!!!

I have just said on the other thread that the main perk of being single is no bed sharing, man snoring or stealing of the duvet :D
One step at a time ;)
  • As long as theres golden syrup in the rice pudding , Im definitely siding with that !!!

What is it with us all, rice pudding, snoring hubbies, the list goes on ?!! Mr Pinot is finally safely home and is snoring for England, I am downstairs with the door shut and I can still hear him !! Heaven help me !!!

Oh and yes Mr Pinot does know about my diary ramblings and says that he will sit down and read with a posh bottle of Pinot when we are finally debt free ! Lord knows how old he will be and how much I will have rambled on by then !!

Hopeful 1 - Now you are just showing off !!! :rotfl:

I seem to catch the tale end of discussions here. Just thought I should confess to being a snorer. DH and I both spend our nights waking and moving each other

Morning diary, and a lovely Spring morning it is too. The horses are out without rugs for the first time so they will be filthy when they come back in tonight, but they will have a lovely day rolling around in the mud.

I hope everyone managed to sleep through their partner's snoring last night, including MR Poohbear!! Pooh's confession did make me wonder if maybe I snore too and Mr H is just too polite to tell me, but I'm sure he'd have mentioned it at some point during the last 24 years - and politeness isn't his strongest point! Hopeful1, I agree completely and I have the best sleeps EVER when Mr H works away at night but it takes me ages to nod off because I lie away listening to strange noises which I wouldn't usually have even noticed!

Home working today and at lunchtime I will continue with my de-cluttering/house-cleaning mission. I have decluttered/cleaned our living room and our laundry room so far. I hoped I would find loads of things to sell, but it was all rubbish! Maybe I'll have more luck in the kitchen. I'm emptying each kitchen unit, giving it a really good clean and being ruthless about what I put back in. Takes ages, I've only done two so far!

Back later to catch up with everyone's diaries - I couldn't get on here at all yesterday because Mr Happy was hovering around wanting to tell me all about his Speed Awareness Course which he'd just got back from. He said it was actually very good and he learned some stuff about road signs/speed limits/driving techniques. Fingers crossed he doesn't get caught again because next time it will be a fine and points, plus a massive rise in car insurance costs.

  • Hi HN, wish I could say the same for the weather in NZ this morning. We are being battered by a weather bomb with strong winds (up to 150km) and heavy rain. :( Thank goodness it's only predicted to last 24 hours.

Good luck with the decluttering. I completed emptied my kitchen cupboards in January (my quiet time at work). I didn't find anything to put on trademe but did find stuff to throw out and of course my cupboards are now clean, tidy(ish) and I know what's in them. Although have to confess, still have the cupboard under the sink to do.
