    Quick question:

I received the renewal quote for my builings insurance from Churchills for £260.....I've turned this down because I feel it's too much. Can I buy the same cover from Churchills again through their website (but for £70 cheaper), or will they stop me from doing this?

    thanks!

I've done the same thing - my contents insurance from Barclays was £77 and I got £125 cash back through Quidco! Well worth doing. When your docs come through, your old insurer will probably try to better the quote to stop you cancelling - take this back to the new insurer and get the premium reduced even further. This won't affect your Quidco payment.

Quick question for people who have gone with Barclays for Home Insurance through Quidco, i have just gone to Barclays through Quidco for Contents and Buildings insurance separately (so hopefully 2 x £125) but the transactions are not showing, how long did it take for yours to appear in your "tracked" list?

    Thanks
  • What "georgeone" says seems to make sense, BUT, I would like to see what he thinks of the total BODGERY performed by an "approved " builder appointed by Cunningham Lindsey, the loss adjusters for Norwich Insurance, on a neighbours house.
You would be appalled at the way they did the general repairs following a genuine subsidence. The specialist foundation contractor was fine, but the approved builders were incompetent, lazy, and skimped on the schedule wherever they thought they could get away with it. The managers just fudged the issue, because they were all in it together, and thought the customers were stupid.
Example; banging a 4" square chock of wood under a floor beam onto the underfloor earth to bring the floor to level it, instead of using the approved method. Or how about when they applied the epoxy cement grout into the 1" wall cracks, but only smeared it on the surface and quickly plastered over it.
Anyone want to see the videos? If you don't believe.
Just because they are "approved" does not mean they are good builders, and it can give a false sense of security.
  • I have just received my Direct Line house and contents renewal....£374.85. Thought that was a bit steep so went on to DL's web site and got a new quote for exactly the same cover.....£203.70. Called them and was told to cancel original policy and take out new one online. Just saved myself £150. How many people would just accept the renewal amount??

Hi, I have home contents insurance. The circuit board, on my central heating boiler, needs replaced and it's going to cost a lot. How can I make a claim on my insurance company? I know how sneaky they can be.
