Hello there - I need spare key for my Mercedes CLK and Smart Pulse cars - dealer is asking for silly money around £200 for each one.
Anyone know of anywhere you can get spares cut and programmed for less? Thanks a lot!

Timpsons do keys, but when I recently looked at them in connection with another brand of car they didn't turn out significantly cheaper and we ended up using the main dealer.0

I don't know where in the country you are but there is a network of indie garages for Smarts (& MB's) and I'm sure one of those would be cheaper. A fob for the smart is around £50 and you can get blanks for the blade to cut from your original, coding is usually another £50 on top.

AFAIK this is the only place outside the dealer network that you can get keys for the newer Mercs.I have no connection with the above. He is highly regarded on a Mercedes forum that I use.HTH0 -

Just be careful before you part with your money. We regularly see people who've tried similar cheaper alternatives, and they are incorrectly manufactured, very cheaply made or just uncodable. We also regularly charge local garages for new keys and coding when they've tried a similar thing, and they palm it off as their 'cheap' version but adding the price to the rest of the bill.:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Please don't be offended if that opinion differs from yours, but feel free to click the 'Thanks' button if it's at all helpful!0
