I recently bought a wardrobe from Ikea. When I bought the wardrobe I also purchased their soft close hinges (3 packs at £10 each). The packaging does not state what items they are compatible with so I assumed they were generic as a lot of their items are.
I left OH to erect the wardrobes. He ripped the plastic packaging open on all three packets and it then became apparent that they didn't fit. I have managed to tape the packets back up pretty neatly and still have the receipt. Do you think they will refund/give me a credit note? I'm annoyed as I kind of feel like I was misled into thinking they would fit. It's an 80 mile round trip for me to go and try and get my money back but luckily I have other items I need go buy. Not sure how good Ikea are with regards to returns?
Thanks

I've had no problems with this before - they have always provided a credit note for me to buy the correct hinges (I did something similar when building some PAX wardrobes...0

Usually they are quite good. Just take them back to store. I had a missing part recently, they had no in stock so posted them to me.0

Yeh - you'll probably be fine.
Bit harsh to say you felt mislead though. Unless Ikea put the hinges next to the model you bought with 'Buy these for this wardrobe' then it's hardly misleading to sell an item!0 -
You would be relying on goodwill and were wrong to assume they were compatible, so don't go in there all guns blazing to demand anything, just ask / beg nicely!0
