  • Betmunch = thank you for your advice. That was the information I needed. This means her credit report is wrong.

Her payments never went over a month late so they should read. 1 1 1 1 but it is flagging as follows with her:

Yep, thats telling a lender she was a full four months in arrears in feb this year, so will look terrible on an application.

Good Luck in getting it corrected, I think you are going to need it!

  • I take it from your message that it can be a bit of a problem to have it corrected then? I am right in thinking if I speak with a manager at orange they should change this though

Its a simple enough process, call Orange, prove they reported it wrong, get them to change it.

However, in my experience Mobile Phone companies are particularly obtuse.

I could be worrying you over nothing and you will get it sorted easily.

Also, its worth remembering that even if it is corrected, it still doesnt look great so wont guarentee you are accepted for the mortgage you have applied for, some lenders wouldnt even redo their credit check even if you explain to them that there has been a correction (Abbey being a prime example of this)

I just wanted to let everyone know that I spoke with orange in this instance - and they corrected the issue.

The late payments were turned into green payments on experian credit report and it made a massive difference

So if you ever see anything wrong with your credit report it is well worth speaking to the company that reported the error.
