Claims Advisory Group vs Claims Advice Bureau

I have been dealing with the CAG and have had one successful claim so far. I've now received an invoice for another amount from the CAB for more money, but I haven't had any further payouts. However, the reference numbers are identical. Does anyone know if these companies are the same? I can't get through on the phone to discuss, and I'm really worried. Any advice?

    Hi & welcome

    Is that a claims company?
Sorry I don't know much about claims companies or on how they work as such, but if any problems, you could contact the Claims regulation management (ministry of justice/MOJ) who may be able to help an check this out for you.

Please accept my apoligies if I got the wrong end of the stick and good luck.

  • Sorry, yes it is a claims company. I've still not managed to get a response on any of the phone numbers, they haven't call back or responded to my email. I'll get in touch with thhem in the morning. I just can't work out if its safer to pay the bill and challenge it afterwards? I'm concerned they'll refer it to a 3rd party recovery agency as they threaten, and I'll get stuck with paying for that too...
  • Do you have a contract with them?
  • I managed to get in touch with the Claims Advisory Group (who I did contract with and who I paid fair and square) and they are not connected to the Claims Advice Bureau, but they are investigating because they are concerned that the CAB is using their account reference number to try and get more money from me.
People keep telling me to contact the police, they reckon it's fraud? Should I leave the investigation with the CAG or seek further advice?
  • Well they are going to look pretty stupid if they take you to court for not paying a fraudulent invoice!

Do they give an address and/or Claims Regulation reference?
  • Happy New Year all

They claim to be a registered company and give a reference number. The Claims Advisory Group are investigating, why the Claims Advice Bureau is using their reference numbers (and how they got hold of them). I'll keep you posted.
