Cost of 20" wheel refurbishment

As above please, what should i be looking to pay for a single 20" alloy wheel to be refurbished, its still got the tyre on it at present? And all all refurbishers much the same or does quality vary much?
Thanks

We use a company called 'Revive' ( a franchise, and not a particular recommendation) and their standard charge is £75 for 'normal' damage - have had no queries over quality and, afaik, they don't differentiate on wheel size
  • If it is a standard manufacturers alloy, PX Wheels do an excellent service where they send you an alloy they've already done, you swap your tyre onto it then send your old one back in the box they provide.

From £40 a wheel but depends on how much refurbishing it needs. Quick dip in the stripper and a respray?

Or does it need to be straightened or welded? Finished in a lathe to clean kerbing damage?

A brand new alloy can sometimes be cheaper than having one refurbished.

You really have to ask around locally for an answer to this. Refurbs, even from alleged franchises, are far from consistently done from area to area as its largely down to the guy doing the work. Ask a couple of owner/driver taxi boys, they usually have the VFM down to a fine art.
  • From £40 up to £100 for a proper workshop to do a proper job, from £20 to £40 for Bodgit and Scarper mobile to cover it over for sale purposes.

As post above it depends on damage and finish and quality required, some wheels are simply painted from new, others are diamond cut and clear lacquered, the latter is always expensive at refurb and doesn't last any better than new and you will struggle to get better than 6 months warranty on it.
