If you like them both...then why not leave the casting vote to your OH ...that way you are getting a ring you like and you know its been chosen by him and given with lots of love..
Get him to pick the ring he likes best and when you open the box to reveal whichever ring it is I'm sure thats what will make it your special engagement ring....frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Very similar to what we did. We designed the ring ourselves, but we designed two. That way when he opened the box I didn't know which I was getting :T
I know you like the size of the diamond in the antique ring, but is it actually a good diamond, or could you actually get a diamond that size quite cheaply as it's clarity etc isn't that good? The size of a diamond doesn't mean a lot to some people. It's more the clarity cut etc as mentioned on here.
I love mine as the diamond is absolutely clear, however that in itself has flaws if you look carefully you can see through it, which I've never noticed in other rings before.
I think if he picked one and you didn't have to choose then all would be ok, it's a huge huge thing and sometimes I think that's exactly why the bloke chooses. As women can't. We want it all..........Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
The colour and cut were waaay more important to me than the size!

I never really had a type of ring in mind when I was thinking about my ideal engagement ring. I'm very indecisive myself and I can appreciate when things are pretty, but they aren't always 'me'. Before OH proposed, when we were out shopping, he would direct me to a jewellers and ask if there was anything I saw that I liked. OH had something in mind and managed to find a jewellery designer online that made the ring to his exact specification. I was totally blown away and love it. I couldn't have picked anything better myself. It's an 0.52 carat emerald cut centre stone with two emerald cut baguettes either side in platinum. The quality of the stones is excellent - Certified GIA with excellent clarity and only 1 inclusion! We met working in a jewellers so OH knew quality of the stone was more important than size to me, but the way the stones are arranged, it looks massive! We're both very happy with the entire process and the quality of the work, we'll probably go back to him for our wedding rings (since i want a hammered effect platinum band) PM me if you want the website address.

Yes, the certification is very important. Mine is GIA as well but I know that there are another two orgs which are also reputable.7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs
