Topsoil Disposal

Options
Anyone know any cheap grab lorries? I've got about 30 tonne (2 loads) of good topsoil to get rid of in Leicestershire. I've put an advert on Gumtree for free collection. Other than that i'm looking at 150 per load for a grab lorry (cash)

  • You might want to try advertising on your local Freecycle group as well - last time I checked, topsoil was frequently offered or sought.

Make a sign and stick it in your front garden ......... Free Topsoil to take away.
Lots of people will be glad of it

you should never have to pay to get rid of topsoil. there are loads of peeps who want it for free.
some places will even pay you for it.
    Get some gorm.
  • You should be able to get rid of it for free - loads of people want to make raised beds (I would love some if I were anywhere near you... and had a car :-) ) put cards up on supermarket noticeboards, or even contact local allotment orgs, or even quite a few schools have been setting up gardens and might fancy some.

C'mon - Ormus, any places that'll collect + pay and i'll be like a kid at Christmas. I had a look on free cycle, it just looked a bit involved to join. It's up for free on gumtree so now just to get G'Dad to spread word around the allotments.
  • Dig a hole and bury it :D

try the old dirt down the trousers trick, in the neighbours gardens.

When I needed to get rid of mine. I went round to the local landscape gardener and he lent me his small tipper lorry. I filled it several times and dropped the soil off in his local yard. Luckily it was all good top soil.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
