Any Openreach engineers on here?
Can one of you advise the best path to get a job at Openreach? Sussex area.
4yrs experience in IT Technical support.

Ha John, I've actually read alot about the rep of some.
I work for a small firm though with no ladder to climb and want a more stable path.0 -
I haven't spoken to anyone in Openreach for a while, but when I last did they said working conditions at ground level were terrible.
High workload, low morale, no pay rises and poor prospects because of long-serving employees staying put waiting for the right package.
Things may have changed, but I doubt it.0 -

Which is what 2 acquaintances of mine did.
Both joined from school, worked their way up and have spent the last 10yrs or so waiting for the optimum time to get out. Both retired at around 60, I'm guessing.
I do have occasional contact at work with OR guys, and I'd say morale and working conditions have not improved. Work load can be pretty high, and I *think* the Infinity cable pulls around here are being done by sub-contractors.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
