DFS and time scale

Good Afternoon everyone
Apologies if this is in wrong place. We purchased a sofa from DFS whichhI have just come across the original credit agreement for, and I have discovered a tick box (not in same handwriting on agreement!) for ppi (36months@£6.22) So can only believe that this was added by someone else other than ourselves. No idea this was added was just relieved to be accepted for credit.........problem though this was in 2002! Are we still entitled to try and claim ppi back and if so do I claim from DFS or GE. Sorry so many questions.
Many thanks
Alison.

    Hi Allison

It maybe the case of having to go the underwriter/insurer direction, the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) if the complaint was rejected are only able to adjudicate complaints if the business you were complaining about were regulated by the FSA at the time you taken out the account.
However, you could rule the business out first by writing to the head office of DFS and see if they will uphold in your favour, but failing that, contact the FOS and explain the situation and see if they suggest the underwriter of the policy as another avenue.

Hope this helps and good luck.:)
