Yep, red alert put out by met office. Chaos out there, supposed to blow out this afternoon, then I'll be up on the roof replacing slates. Greenhouse now in next county, landscape at rear of house now changed, lots of really old pear tree's, plus a few other tree types snapped!!!
Scary stuff........0 -

Today is bin day here. I've been out hooking in bins as they travel along the road. I'm absolutely disgusted with the bin men - if a bin is standing up, they'll empty it, but if it's lying down (still full of rubbish) they'll carefully drive round it.
I've now got a selection of bins outside the wall, just hope the owners of some of them can match them up with the hinged lids which seem to have vanished.
This is the strongest wind we've had so far.0 -
Blowing a hoolie again, 15.25hrs, radio report of a trucks trailor overturning, bridge to close, about time to put tolls on again, this will stop selfish HGV drivers creating danger, and havoc
I had this discussion recently about bringing back the tolls as the bridge where I live is closed far more often these days than it ever was when the tolls were in place. We wondered if it was solely to do with the income generation the tolls provided or if having multiple people in the toll booths somehow made things safer? Who knows but it is a pain having to make allowances so the regular bridge closures these daysIf you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -
