Ipod question when downloading music

Been downloading some of my CD collection to Itunes to transfer to my shiny new Ipod.....thanks Santa!

My problem is with albums that have a track that features another artist. Itunes seems to create a seperate 'file' for that one track and doesn't appear in the main body of the album.

Any way round this?

Right click the tracks, select Get Info and fill in the Album Artist info (in Sorting) with just the name of the primary artist. iTunes should then pull the tracks together as soon as you arrange by Album/Album Artist.

I found this as well ages ago with iTunes, I did as suggested above and changed compilation albums to Various Artist or something like that, which worked to clean things up:)

Strange as its only iTunes that Ive used that has had this problem, all other music programmes I've used managed perfectly without having to do this:(

I'd been converting my albums to digital since 1998 and always kept things organised using folder management, ID3 tags, etc. manually. The whole lot came together nicely no matter what I used, until I got my iPhone in 2010 and started using iTunes. It took me a couple of weeks to add in the information to the iTunes library to get everything organised in there.

Very much so and I'd consider using one of the many alternatives if were not for the learning experiencing which helps when sorting out customer problems. Unfortunately the best experience comes from repeated exposure and not all of the things we're exposed to is the best of its kind.
