Do I have to accept a refund?

The retailer was Ebuyer and the drive was from WD (as noted hit heavily by the floods). This particular item has doubled in price at Ebuyer and I ended up buying a replacement from elsewhere.
I'm not convinced that replacing the drive was disproportionately expensive for them and I'm still cheesed off at being lied to (advised they couldn't replace as they had none in stock when they had at least 40+). I'll be complaining to the OFT about the way my issue was handled but I'm not sure what else I can gain from pursuing the replacement anymore as I no longer have need of it. What I would like back is the difference between the refund and replacement drive but I can't see that happening without going to court and even the I wonder what the odds of me winning are....0
