PPI & Default

Hi,

I had a loan and cc with EGG. I never missed a payment on the loan, but unfortunately received a default on the credit card which will be five years old in March.

I managed to claim the PPI back on the loan without any difficulties whatsoever, but did not seek to claim back the PPI on the CC.

If I was able to claim back the PPI on the CC, would I be able to challenge the default because the missold PPI was part of the final default figure? (the CC is completely paid off now).

Thanks

You cannot challenge the default on that basis as the default happened. The providers are not upholding complaints with liability. They are upholding as goodwill.

Plus, with Credit card ppi, it is highly unlikely, given the small amounts involved, that they would have prevented it had they not been taken. As you have now settled the debt in full, its only a short time until it drops off and it shouldnt be doing you much damage now.
