It sounds like a dodgy connection. I would try with removing the leads off the battery and cleaning the battery terminals and the inside of the connectors on the end of the leads with sandpaper first then re-attaching and smothering them with grease to prevent corrosion. Being an automatic, moving it manually won't have done anything that should have made a difference.0

If it was dirty battery leads it would have jump started, as the jump leads connect to the outside of the terminals, and the dirt is on the inside, on the battery terminals, so you can rule that out.
I'd put my money on it not being quite into P, or a faulty inhibitor switch, on the gearbox.
Being an auto, you can't start it in gear, so moving the selector to move the car would have jiggled the inhibitor a bit, and then you would have put it back in P, or Neutral.
Other place to check is the earth strap from the battery to the chassis, or the live connection onto the alternator or starter may be loose or dirty.0 -

Car battery = needs replacing
All of your symptoms point to this.... Central locking will not work if the battery is dead.
Attempts to save pennies by jumping/recharging are false economy.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Sounds to me more like the immobilizer. Search google for talkford. Can't post links.. Very helpful site. Try using the second set of car keys to start it.0

I have a mondeo. Sounds like a dead battery as well. A good charge will give it some more life but a new battery is a better idea. Any half decent garage will have a meter that will analyse the battery condition. Oh when chaging the battery make sure that the radio is turned off or that a standby power supply (correct term) is attached. You don't want to be messing around with the codes if you can avoid it.0

I think the battery is fine as well (fully agree with Mikey's post above), as the car started fine after being moved; you have some other type of issue.0

Insufficent charge in the battery to start the car on a Mondeo will result in all the dashboard facia lights flashing at you through the steering wheel when you turn the ignition on and try and start the car."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0
