The Ancient [STRIKE]profits[/STRIKE] prophets say that the end of the world is near...21st December 2012 to be exact..and thats set my next target for my debt clearing!! :rotfl:

I had my LBM Sept 2011 I haven’t made a great impact in lowering the balance of my debt but I have made a change to me and the way I think and manage money

thank-you.gifI’d like to thank Emzilla, ZTD, LondonGirl252,TurboJet, greensaints and all the MSE’ers that lent their support in the early days and still are, I am doing this alone, in secrecy so having shared my problems with these guys has helped my mental health to no end!

Achievements in 2011:

· My LBM actually knowing how much I owe and having a plan
· Paying off the HP for my car tresheureux.gif
· Shopping around and getting £50 knocked of my current car insurance renewal notice
· Shopping around and getting my contents insurance for £48 less this year
· Getting Additional work as a Fire Marshall and an Extra
· Spending £150 Less on Xmas This year

Things 2011 Taught me:
· I’m an emotional spender..shoping07.gif
· I had no idea where my money went
· You can earn £10 extra a day with a little effort
· I can cook!!! And its cheaper
· Planning helps you live more frugally
· Men are possibly not all the same! rougedrague.gif
· My cat likes the Aldi cheap stuff as much as Whiskers Saving me £36.92 a year!
· There are cheap ways to have fun

Things I want to achieve in 2012
· Earn £10 extra a day for the entire year – totalling £3660casino1s.gif
· Pay off a minimum of £2160 from my debts (£180 a month)
· Go to the Gym 3 times a week
· Drop a stone for my sisters wedding in Aug (currently at 10st)
· Stick to the budget I have drawn up

The most important to me is the Earn £10 a day challenge as it would allow me to pay off more than double what I can service my debts with a month currently, and it would mean Dec 21st 2012 my debt would be under half what it stands at today

So....re-setting all my balances...

My debt currently stands at £10,570 vil-triste.gif

By 21.12.12 I want it to be a maximum of £4,750

Wish me Luck! I look forward to sharing our ups and downs together for another year... Happy New Year Everyone!

(and just in case....Make Every Day Count!)

  • Looking forward to hearing about your journey. Seems like you have a good plan in place :D

I think it always helps when you have somewhere to go and be honest about your situation. This is why I come here, nobody really knows about our debts - coming here keeps me on the straight and narrow ;)
    Just keep swimming!

couldn't agree more, I used to dread going out or xmas or birthdays because my friends were oblivious and spending money like water I thought I was the only one in debt in the world and that made me feel like a faliure and more depressed with no one to turn to this site has made me realise we all make mistakes, get in debt for one reason or another and not only that its my guide I have no one to go to for tips on cooking cheaply or cleaning or anything like that this is my first point of call for everything!

Wish you all the happiness in 2012
