Civil Parking Notice - For buying a ticket!
headwest
Hi Everyone,
I have an idea of what i'm going to argue with this but just wanted other opinions.
On boxing day i had a civil parking notice from Vinci park alledging that I had breached code 15 of their terms, something about not displaying my ticket correctly.
I have however got my ticket here in my hand so can prove to them they lost no revenue from my parking.
My argument stems from the fact that there was no sticky label on the back of the ticket so i had no way of attaching it to my car, therefore it is entirely reasonable to expect the ticket could be dislodged by vibration, draft, door closing etc.
I am also being ordered to pay £70 in a car park that charges £3 for 3 hours. Therefore the fact that the ticket was issued 1 hour and 10 mins after I parked up is entirely unreasonable.
Do people think this is a strong enough argument and is there anything else I should include?
Thanks in advance
G

Why on earth would you wish to contact them? If you read all the posts on this forum (or at least some of them) you will see that its always best to ignore them. Let them waste their money on a wild goose chase. Keep the ticket and any paperwork just for laughs and do not be concerned by the empty threats you will get.
edit. Congratulations on breaching so many of their ""terms"" most people only get to 2.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -

Why waste you time?
Just ignore the rip-off merchants. All contacting does is prolong their attempts to con money out of you.
Check the Letter Chain sticky for an example of what you will likely get from them.0 -
keep the ticket as proof and part, of a defence based on the very ticket itself doesn't allow for it's proper display just in case the clowns did do court , but ignore them and then ignore some more, as they are more likely to go away eventually.0

As others have said, just ignore the whole thing. You are not being 'ordered' to do anything, this is not the Police!!
I know you WANT to contact them to put your side of the story but Private Parking Companies (PPCs) are not from a reasonable industry.
I know that their fake 'ticket' says there is an 'appeals procedure' but think about it...this is a private firm and this is how they make their money - and there is no statute or legal appeals procedure they have to follow at all. In other words there is NO APPEALS PROCEDURE, it's only there to mimic a real Council PCN. What they pretend is one, is in fact a misleading attempt to get information from you and then they know their letters are being read and that they have a 'hooked fish' who doesn't know any better than to take their protection racket seriously.
Don't honour their scam with a response, any reply would be telling them who was driving and giving them a contact address that they will otherwise have to obtain from the DVLA for £2.50 a pop. Make them pay to get your info and then make them pay lots of postage on wasted letters to you. That's what we do.
It's like a series of phishing emails only this is a mail scam. All the letters used by these PPCs are shown in the top sticky thread 'PPC letters, what to expect'.
Did you miss that thread? You seem to think you actually have a real fine here.
Did you also miss the other sticky by Crabman, 'welcome, please read before posting'? That has a must-see clip of Watchdog with an experienced Solicitor's clear opinion on what to do with a bogus PCN like the one you have there.
Please spread the word about PPC scams like we do (most of us are here because we've had these fake PCNs and are shocked by the scam). Just because retailers and cinemas, landlords and hospitals have been hoodwinked into allowing these scammers into their car parks (because, just like a protection racket, it's offered free and often actually earns the retailer a cut of the income from uninformed victims) doesn't mean it's any more legitimate.
Watch that Watchdog video now. Read any threads on this sub board under the stickies; you will see the word 'ignore' used every time it's a private (fake) PCN.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Let the scammers waste their resources sending you silly threatmail which you can ignore with inpunity. The reply to any letter you send is already sitting on someone's desk saying your 'appeal' has been rejected. Unfortunately there are still enough people taken in by this scam to keep the scammers in business, I am glad you are not amongst these people.Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!0

If you contact them to argue you will be playing their game, they make the rules as they go along, they decide who wins, they decide how much you pay.
"they" just happen to be the same people who want your money.
Can you guess who will win the argument ?
Well good luck is on your side, for I know a way you can win.
You Ignore them unless they put up or shut up in an actual court.
They wont, so you get to decide who wins as you are the one holding the prize they seek.
That prize is your Wages they want to scam from you.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
You paid for your parking therefore the landowner has suffered nil loss, just because the PPC monkey couldn't be bothered looking on your dashboard to see your ticket means you have to pay them anything. The chances of it going anywhere near the court as about the same as Blackburn winning the premiership this season.0
