Contact the DVLA and explain.
Maybe the seller put the wrong name down on the V5C when they sent it off after selling the car to you.0 -
How wrong is the name? is it similar?
Maybe seller sent off the wrong V5 for another car they have.... contact seller and DVLA
Have you still got the green V5C tear off slip from seller? What car reg is on that tear off slip?0 -
Was it private sale or from dealer?

i once applied for two log books for same type of car but put the same chassis number on both by mistake
i had a woman make an appointment to come and view the cars to see if i was cloning
she came from the dvla and i had to show her where the chassis numbers in ford cars were
so i got away with that one:D
i guess the dealer made a mistake0 -
It's just human mistakes, when I notified the DVLA once that I changed address they got the house number wrong, simply call them, they are used to make corrections where needed, took one week for a new logbook to arrive.Five exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!

The Deliberately Vexatious Legalised Ar*eh*les last year sent me someones driving licence. It wasn't addressed to us but was addressed to someone else at this property.
I binned it thinking it was spam. Couple of weeks later a letter from the DVLA turns up asking if we'd be good enough to return it and sign the confidentiality agreement (f***in cheek). I rang them up.. "Sorry we accidentally sent someones licence to you, can we have it back?" , "Erm mate, I binned it so the licence any any ID you stupidly sent to us belonging to someone else is now your problem". "Oh, right, ok well as long as the licence has been destroyed we'll send them another one, could you sign the agreement and send it back to us?", "No, this is your blunder you've no right to impose any contractual agreement on me to keep quiet, not that I can even remember the name on it".
We ended the call and at that point I realised he was happy to send a replacement licence to the person but didn't seem to give a rats about that persons other documents having been potentially binned. Typical nasty, arrogant, pathetic idiots.0
