Wtc/ctc Problems...tell Your Mp

Dear All,

Just an update on my posting yesterday re the above probs I was having....I emailed my local MP yesterday afternoon....got a reply within hours saying ' my secretary will phone you tomorrow to try and help you'.

She has phoned me to get a brief background of situation, got on the 'Special Parliament Phone Line' to Tax Credits.....and guess what? .... SUCCESS:j :j Apparantly the (ex) has terminated his claim today!!!! Which is a scary coincidence eh! But she has managed to get TC's to listen and process my valid claim with just one phone call:T I could have kissed her lol.

Although I will have to wait a bit longer to get all my backdated monies, at least I can get on with my little job now, knowing that we can all survive.

So this is to let you all know that taking it to the Powers That Be...does work

A very relieved Maisie:p

Apparantly your MP has a hotline to Tax Credits Office, so if he's worth his salt, he/she will get on the blower to them. Tell them you know that Robert Key acts swiftly on these matters....might get them moving for you...spesh if they're the opposition party lol

They probably mean an advisor from the Citizens Advice Bureau. I have recently dealt with C.A.B regarding tax credits and I must say it takes alot of the stress off dealing with them yourself.

  • word of warning, just because you speak to your MP does not mean any problems you have with tax credits will automatically be fixed.

Yes they do have a special line to tax credits but they have no influence in the processing or rectification of a claim.

quick example, a gentleman complained to his MP that he had been overpayed and it wasn't his fault, his MP was gordon brown and the outcome after he spoke to the next prime minister was he still had to pay the money back
