Watermarks

I'm planning to sell my car in Feburary in preperation for this I would like to give the car a really good clean and get it into as good a condition as possible.
I have pale grey fabric on the seats which have many watermarks/stains on them - does anyone know a cheap method of removing these???

  • Pay someone for an interior valet including shampooing the seats. The £40 or so it costs is well worth it.

I use the spray on foam upholstery cleaner, get the dirt off, then sponge the entire seat until it's uniformly damp, when it dries they look fine.

Thanks for this - do you know the name of the cleaner you use??

I've bought several from different places, Halfords, cut price warehouses, even Auchan in france.
They all seem to work equally well.
They are all the dry foam type, ie you spray them, it comes out as a foam that sits on the upholstery, and lifts the dirt out. The posh cans come with a little brush on top, the cheapy ones I use with a nail brush.
Then I sponge them over to lightly dampen the surface uniformly, and the watermarks blend together and vanish.

Brilliant - thanks for this, I'd tried them before although I'd never damped the entire surface so I'll give that a go!

you say many stains on seats so a full valet prior to sale really would be the way forward
