Gamestation - selling 2nd hand as new

Gamestation sold me a copy of Saints Row as new. It wasn't sealed but I was assured it was a new copy. However, the online code had already been used so it was obviously a second hand copy. Will be going into complain tomorrow

Just explain the code has already been used and you would like a new copy which is what you paid for. I always ask for a sealed copy when im buying NEW games so i can be sure any codes will work.0

Ive used GS before although not for a while but they were fine,0

I got a game from Grainger Games that I was assured was new, but this too wasn't sealed. Does the lack of sealing indicate the game's been used?0

Not always, i used to buy games from GAME and they removed the discs from the boxes and kept the discs in the drawers behind the tills and i assumed the games were brand new but minus the seal, I did start asking for a sealed copy. The discs looked brand new so i assumed it was new.
Your game could be completely new and teh disc was just removed form its box and the disc stored somewhere safe but no idea if thisis true for GG.0 -
On a technicality, it may have been returned rather than s/h.
That is possible where you might only find that a game is faulty/unusable after you've registered it.0 -
Having worked for Game, Gamestation & HMV i can say that all three at various points in time have had a policy of taking the inserts of the games out of the box prior to displaying it (disc, instruction manual, flyers) in some cases they would have sealed copies behind the counter ready to be given to customers (in most cases big releases) but it's not always guarenteed they'll have this available. Onto the problem of the OP, sounds like it's been a returned game, i'd love to tell you it's uncommon but it's not, i'd love to tell you that staff never have a go on games as they come in - but again, it happens in some places, the code however shouldn't have been used. Take it back & tell them, they should replace it as if it was sold as new it's not fit for purpose.Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0

probably just a mix up, go back and explain and ask for a replacement you shouldn't have any trouble. If someone had returned it there would be no way for the staff to tell as the codes are now printed on the slips rather than scratch off ones.0
