Debenhams girft reciept refunds

Debenhams gift reciepts say you can get a refund until 28th December, or exchange until 28th January.

However when going into store, there are massive posters saying we won't process refunds until after 28th December.... Really annoying as there is nothing else in store I want to exchange for, and I can't get a refund

I would imagine that they would do the refunds on the 28th if you are able to get in then?

Do you get a refund with a gift receipt? I thought only a full receipt would be given a refund and a gift receipt an exchange or credit note?

If you have a gift receipt, you can choose to either exchange for another product or have the value put onto a gift card. This receipt lasts until the 28th Jan. With a full receipt you can either have a full refund (if the item isn't reduced by more than 50%) or an exchange. Head office have said that no refunds are to be processed until the 29th Dec, but that you can have an exchange before then. This is due to how busy it is in store at the moment. After the 29th you'll be able to get a full refund.

The store wasn't doing refunds until 29th December, I do have the orginal receipt, but this also says only refunded until 28th.

Will enquire about a gift card that I could spend later in the year.
