Happy New Year everyone! Sympathies to anyone suffering a hangover today, I've not been too bad for a change, despite having the equivalent of 4.5 pub measures of baileys on top of other drinks last night, thanks to OH completely filling the glass I'd been using for martini with it, lol!
Anyway, for January I am going to be brave and go for £50 as we have loads of food in, so hopefully won't need to buy too much. Famous last words, lol!Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

Afternoon all,
Can I join and be put down for £200 have a fairly full freezer as overspent on the December food budget so need to keep a tight grip on things this month, will mainly just need fresh fruit, veg and dairy. Aiming for 15 NSD as well as this should stop me popping in for milk and leaving with a bag full of groceries.0 -
Just wondered if people take out their monthly budget from the bank and use cash? I think I will need to do this as taking a card makes me spend more than I need, especially if I see "baragains!"0

Happy New Year to you all
I didn't do very well last year keeping track of what I spent during November and December. So am starting again and this time making a real effort to keep tabs on everything and putting time aside to log on and record everything.
Please put me down for £600 this month.
ThanksJan 2012 GC £600/£78.33 Spent

I've updated my sig after a delivery on Friday from Mr S and ordering from AF. I'm going to try and keep groceries under £50 a week to keep well within budget as we have to pay for a residential school visit for our son this month. Visitors now all returned home so we're back to normal (ish). I now have a coin purse so plan to take this shopping each week with only my £50 budget in there. Hopefully going without the cards will mean I spend less. Happy New Year to everyoneGC 2023 June £72/500 NSDs 1/100

I'd like to join please with £80 for the month. I'm a student by myself so it might seem like a lot but it is a big drop from the past few months. Most of the spending before came from junk food but I'm back on the weightwatchers bandwagon so hopefully this will give me an additional incentive to be good!
I'm away from uni for this month and have cupboard stuff I can cook with so that should help - I'll just have to hope I manage not to buy lots of rubbish to try and cheer myself up during assignment/exam period!
Spent So Far - £2.910 -
I'm setting us a budget of £300 for January 2012. That's me, DS1 (16), DS2 (8) & 1 cat.
I had bad news at the end of November so never did my final spend for Nov, & couldn't face December challenge (and the frequent trips the the chip shop wouldn't have helped) but am determined to do better! It doesn't matter if I go over the budget a little as my aim is to keep track of what we are spending... But I'm going to do definite menu planning to help keep it under control. Have managed not to do a proper shop since before Christmas by using what we had in & being at my parents for Christmas & Boxing days.0
