Can you please put me down for £250.00 for January. Have quite a bit of food in the freezer but its my DDs birthday and we always have a tea party. Also my mum is coming for a visit towards the end of the month so will have extra to feed. Really hope i can come under budget this time.

Morning all
We did our' big weekly shop' at S'burys this morning. I stuck to the list like a trouper - but OH did sneak a couple of his favourites into the trolley, including 4, yes 4 of his favourite pizza's which were on half price. I wish I could get that man to embrace the joy of eating leftovers...
Anyway £59.17 spent today - my mum and her hubby are coming for dinner later so hoping I'll have lots of leftovers for the rest of the week because I've prepped masses of food.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -

make a pizza base and slap the leftovers onto that as the topping - he gets pizza and you get him eating the leftovers :rotfl:Cheryl0 -
Dug a chicken out the depths of the freezer last night .... so roast today and it'll then be rubberised (? is that a word!;)) into Chicken & Leek Risotto tomorrow, Curry and stock/soup etc.
So, starting the New Year on a good note:) - looking forward to learning loads more next year and really starting to get to grips with a "proper" budget!
Wishing everyone health, wealth & happiness for 2012have a lovely evening, whatever you've got planned.

Just back from the shops and I managed to spend a total of £13 - good I suppose but I'd hoped for £10. I only needed F&V and a few fresh bits or so I thought, but then realised that the toothpaste and hairspray both ran out this morning.
In B&M they had lots of packs of ham, chicken etc reduced to 20p (date today) so I got 3 for the dog (I'm a veggie) - better for him and much more appreciated than dog food. He's a bit off colour at the moment so some plain meat and boiled rice may do him some good.
I'll put one pack in the freezer for later in the week - should be ok shouldn't it?
Got most of the F&V in Aldi and popped to the greengrocers for some strawberries and a giant pomegranate (£1.50 for the two).
The total also included 4 cans of Diet Pepsi for £1 and 6 McVities Medley cereal bars for a £1 in B&M - some good bargains!
I now have plenty to last the week on the SW diet - no excuses!0 -

Moonflower, it is very difficult to say what your budget should be as every ones circumstances are different. Maybe start at £150 and see how you do, if you want to make it less then bring it down each month and try to match it.
For example I have a family of five and my budget is £400 but there are a few on here who have a budget of £250 for a family of five. Depends on lots of things.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0
