Thanks. I have thrown chicken I defrosted overnight into sc and making chilli chicken which I will serve with rice. It is so great having all the store cupboard essentials in so can just decide on the day what I fancy making and not having to put it off as short of something or go and buy. Am getting good I go into SM with a list and stick to it unless there is reduced items I will use in the near future.Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

Took mum to Tesco today after I dropped Freya at school -
Weightwatchers meals (the ones at £1.75) are supposed to be going through at 4 for £4, but went through the checkout at 4 for £2. It wasn't ticketed, they were still up at being £1.75 each and there were no signs to say they were on offer, but she'd read it either on here or HUKD. Sorry just spoken to mum and the glitch is off now:o
I didn't get any, but mum likes to have some sort of 'meal' like that in the freezer for when she can't be bothered.
It's Burns Night tonight so we're going over to mum and dad's for haggis, neeps and tatties
I'll catch up with the rest of the thread (think I have another 20+ pages to read since last time ) after I've finished studying
Keep up the good work everyone :T0 -

I have reached the end of my month and have managed to come in under budget. Hooray!
A lot of this was down to massively overspending and overstocking for Christmas, but with all the ideas and support here and related threads I have avoided wasting food and money!
I have decided to put the "underspend" in a savings pot for next Christmas, and plan to do that for all subsequent months. I will see how I go....
On to February now, Many thanks and good luck to all.

Both sun/ mon/tues meals came from the freezer hm lasagne, chicken pie and mince and dumpling i must start using up the food in the freezer usually i freeze things and forget about them i have some steak in there from 2010:eek:, will make a pie with it next week and add some kidney for DD wich will help use up the 10 packs of pastry that is lurking in the freezer as well. I get paid today so my new GB starts but not made my mind up yet to start this week as feb or continue on jan month.

Does anyone have any ideas for sweet treats that will freeze well and are not super high calorie. Me and hubby are both cutting down but like something after dinner with a cuppa. Going to make some scones as have frozen them before and were fine. Any other suggestions? Need to be freezable as otherwise I will eat them.
Hi, yes im watching the calories, i find a meringue nest filled with fruit and topped with greek yoghurt, or a weightwatchers yoghurt (they do a nice toffee flavour one) is a low calories treat, hth
Well, lost my receipt, but i had a spend in Morrisons on a load of items, big bag of mushroom, 4 x large black pudding (which i will portion and freeze), , loads of pork pie slice things, one really thick with egg in, will cut the meat into small piieces and stirfry in rice or something, coleslaw, it all came to £5 something, so i will call it £6. Will update sig0
