Phones 4 U,Pay & Go No Free Texts & Data

Options
My wife bought a new Pay & Go mobile phone from Phones 4 U as part of her Christmas presents.

She purchased the phone on 27th of Nov,she told the salesman that it was for an xmas gift.

She had to purchase a £10.00 top up as part of the deal, the saleman said he had to put in the sim card and activate the phone to test it
(their in store policy)

Phone was tried for the first time this morning, put back in the sim and battery as the saleman had removed the after testing.

Phones works fine but as 30 days have now past since top up was purchased the 300 UK free texts and 500MB UK Free Data are now expired.

This was never mentioned at point of sale, feel a bit hard done by here, could have activated sim card ourselves and this would not be the case. But store policy is they have to do it at point of sale

Think you'll need to top up again or call Phones 4 u and ask for a refund ? No other option really.

The sim could have been used in the previous phone* in the intervening time. (Bit late now, but worth remembering for the future). That's what we always do with new phones that are bought for Christmas/birthday presents.

Unless it was an Iphone of course.

That maybe their policy. Mine would be not to buy from them. To be fair that already was my policy. I think the good of the customer is low down their priority list.

A happy ending to this tale, phoned up 02 themselves as Phones 4 U were no help.Very helpful guy at O2 managed to restart the free texts and data from today.

Now thats what I call good customer service.
