TV series about Egypt - Updated to add a wider question

This is a bit of a long shot, but there was a TV series either this year or last year which was about the Pharoahs in Egypt and their burial sites amongst other things. It would have been on one of the freeview channels as we don't have satellite TV. We didn't see very many of them, and the one I rememer was about Ramses planning his burial tomb, but I also remember one about how all the Pharoah's burial sites were in the same location forming a city.
I wanted to buy this on DVD to watch with my DS who loves history but as you can tell, I cannot remember the name of the series and am vague to say the least as to what exactly it was about. This is a wild hope that someone might recognise the series from what I have described and be able to come up with the title for me!
Many thanks
ETA - Any other suggestions for thought provoking series to watch with a 12 year old boy welcome.

OH says it was called the pharoahs - but after a quick google I think it might be Finding the Pharoahs it was on sky or History channel I think,
I remembered watching this as there was a lot of clever stuff done with the geographical data/scanning and they were able to find stuff that historians never even knew was there and it was reported in the papers.
Hope you find it!

Finding the Pharoahs sounds like it might be the one. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be available on DVD

So a supplemental question if people don't mind! I am looking for interesting and reasonably educational things to watch with my DS one evening a week, when the younger two have been packed off to bed. He is going to be 12 in January and is a bright kid.
We already have History of the World with Simon Sharma, and I have just ordered The Wonders series by Brian Cox. Any other ideas would be very welcome. They don't have to be historical or science based, but I'm not looking for light drama or comedy as he watches enough of this as it is! I will mix it up with some classic films and dramas too. All suggestions welcome!0 -
I have a great DVD about the Egyptians - well more about the finding of the tombs by Howard Carter and the Rosetta Stone etc. It is one where the story is told by being acted out. I normally hate this sort of thing, but this one is done really well by the BBC.
I found a link to the dvd on Amazon.

Edited to add - Space narrated by Sam Neill and the two by Alan Titchmarsh are also good (British Isles : A natual history and Nature of Britain).0 -
Last Chance to See with Stephen Fry, perhaps?
Discovery Atlas is quite a good series which I believe is available on DVD.
Yellowstone is good if he's interested in nature.
Walking with Dinosaurs
Animal Armageddon (about the various extinction events - a little cheesy though at times)

If you live near a branch of 'The Works' they often have National Geographic / Discovery Channel type DVD box sets quite cheaply - I noticed a few ancient Egypt/ancient world ones last time I was in there.0
