Wanna take kids for 3/4 day break in half term in England - any ideas?

Hi
I know this is very last minute but i wondered if anyone knew of anywhere not to far from Essex that i can take my little boy (5) and my neice (6) along with my sister for a 3/4 day break next week.
I dont want to drive miles out of the way as im expecting and so is my sis so just wanted to take them for a little break to keep them amused through the half term.
Anyone got any ideas??
