How easy for bank staff to access account without authorization?

I was just wondering how easy would it be for someone working at a bank to access my bank account without authorization? Assuming they know my name, address, date of birth but the DONT know my account number or debit card details etc?
Curious because someone 'implied' he could do it, and I have an account with the bank he works for. I trust him in many-ways, but I don't trust him with regards to snooping just to satisfy his curiosity and lust to know everything.
Thanks.

Yes he could do it with your name , address and D.O.B.....BUT it would be more than his job is worth to access anyone's account just to snoop. All account access would leave a "imprint" on the account and would show who accessed it.TOTAL 44 weeks lose. 6st 9.5lb :T0

I would recommend you close the account if you have any doubts..Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
If you suspect it, report it. If you SAR the bank then the footprint will be discovered and the bank would have to share that information with you under the Data Protection Act to show your account was accessed at such a such a date and time and by who and if anything was done to the account in the logs.
He'd also get the sack if it was showed you gave him no right to view your account details, so would it really be worth his job?0 -

They do not release the names of people who have accessed an account for data protection reasons just the same as banks and other organisations will not release copies of phone calls and will only send transcripts unless the person consents.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
Yes thinking about it there probably is protection in there to protect the bank employees too.
But if it did not show the name of the employee, it would probably show that there was an access to the account information by someone at the bank and if the OP was to go back to the bank and say they did not authorise it then they would have to investigate further as to who it was would they not?0 -

Yes most definitely the bank will be able to investigate if they was alerted to the fact.
I know for example with RBS/Natwest they are able to play the screens back to see every action that had taken on account. They could even tell you how many times you have used the delete button in the day if they wanted to lolIm an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
It is extremely easy if he knows you. If he knows you then he could concoct a myriad of "good" reasons for accessing your account e.g. to put you on a prospect list.
Depends how much of a chancer he is. As we know, banks employ all sorts.
If however you contacted the bank and formally complained about what he had told you then that might be a black mark for him (unless he has a good record of converting prospects of course).

If the OP made a complaint against an employee by name for example it may be very difficult to explain his actions that easily, especially if he knows the other person.
I know when I worked in banking several years ago, everything got logged. If you were on a call, the call was even logged to the computer screen, and we were told never to look up anyone you know, and if you got a call from someone you did know then to put the call to someone else to deal with.
Banks are very strict with their data, they have to be.0 -
What do you mean by "access"? Do you mean look at your transactions or remove money from your account?
What exactly are you worried about? If somebody looked at your account what are they going to do with that information?0
