HI guys,
Im just wondering if anyone had any experience of this with the next sales.
I went in store today and bout 26 pieces of kids clothing for my nephews. I counted the items on the receipt and the right number had been scanned and the cost was about right.
I brought them home and none of the kids wanted a particular shirt costing £9, which was fair enough.
I know next will refund it. My only problem was I was looking down the receipt so that I could lightly mark it making the refund process easier but as it turns out they havent charged me for that top. Instead they have charged me twice for another item which I only bought one of. There is a 50p difference between the 2 items.
My problem is how will next know that they have charged me 2x for one item and not the other without thinking I am being dodgy?
Anyone with any words of wisdom?
PS hope everyone had a great xmas:T

To be honest, I doubt there'd be an issue if you explain to them. Everyone, specifically the staff, know how busy their sale gets and it's perfectly plausible it could happen.
Whatever your receipt says is the amount they'll refund, and lets be honest; if there was anything dodgy then you wouldn't take it back to the store!0 -
thanks loads for that. Yeah that is true. I wouldnt be taking it back if it was dodgy. Next have always been good in the past.
Heres hoping they will be nice about it!:)0 -

Pretty sure people do take dodgy purchases back. Shoplifters without the receipt (of course) hence why receipt is often required. They even used to use the same receipt over and over again - possibly why most shops mark on your receipt that the item has been refunded. Its also common for shoplifters to steal something and then try return it for another item - usually because the other item has more security on it than the item they stole!
Then of course credit/debit card fraud. Take it back, say you've lost the card/its expired and ask them to refund in cash/onto another card.
Actually amazes me how creative/smart some criminals can be. What is it they say? Where there's a will there's a way?You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
that is what I am worried about. what if they think Im being dodgy?0

worse case scenrio they will put the value on a gift card so i wouldn't worry0

I was under the impression Next don't accept returns on sale items....................0
-
But they close their changing rooms during the sale so you have no real way of checking whether the item fits/looks right/etc.
They DO allow returns on sale items - trust me; been there, done that.0 -
hey arcon5 they def do accept returns. I know people who walk out with hundreds of pounds of stuff so that they can try them on at home and then return stuff. Not ideal but it does happen.
go cat I would be more than happy with that. I tend to buy out of next so that would be cool. As long as the handcuffs dont come out:p0 -
bit of an update.
Went into next this morning and explained the situation. The person on the till said they wouldnt be able to refund me for the tshirt I got for free and didnt think I would get a refund for the item I got charged twice for as I didnt have the item.....
she then called a manager over who simply said refund me and take the tshirt back.....
Problem solved!! There were also some other discrepencies with items I had bought mainly I had paid too much and other wrong items scanned.
No problems at all.
WELL DONE NEXT!!:T0 -
Secondary moral to this story - always check your receipt, and keep an eye on the person scanning your goods.0
