Generally speaking, best advice is to 'bid late, bid your max'
That way you'll know that anyone who beats you was prepared to pay more than you were. So no biggie - it wasn't the bargain you hoped for!
Also, you don't artificially inflate the price early on by showing your hand early.My TV is broken!
