Aldi pheasant

Options
Had one of these on Christmas day.* Truly disgusting. I could have driven a truck over it and then used it as a basketball.

However, after a Boxing Day rescue mission that saw it hurled into a stockpot with sundry vegetables, it produced an excellent Game soup.

If pheasant is on the menu next year, then it will be from the butcher (or possibly direct from the hedge, depending on how I'm feeling at the time).

*I was under pressure at the time, otherwise I wouldn't have agreed. Aldi? Come on.

  • We always use a local butcher. He's the old fashioned kind of butcher and we've never had a bad piece of meat from him. We tried loads of people before we found this one and I'd never change from him every. Local family, old fashioned butcher any day.
