Question about not renewing insurance but signing up online again for a discount.

Hi,
Not sure if this has come up before...
I have a home insurance policy with Direct Line who have sent me a £206 renewal quote. However, if I go through Quidco and resubmit my details as a new customer I save £26 for identical cover purchased online and a further £75 via Quidco.
I am of course tempted to do this but wondering if Direct Line would have any objections to this and / or any grounds to reject any claim made in the future.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

No, but you will be considered a new customer again and be treated as such if you were to have a claim (eg more chance of being investigated by their counter fraud, less likely to get gesture of goodwill/ benefit of doubt etc)All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

However i have tended to call them up after doing this and asking them to add a note stating my previous policy number0
