I genuinely wasnt being rude. The first part of my post was a wondering, the second was tongue in cheek. Sorry if I offended you, it wasn't my intention.

Ignore him. He's trying to distract from the fact he still hasnt answered my post below:

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: It was YOU who was challenging MY posts. May i refer you to post 15 of yours in which you quote one of my posts and disagree with it.

"It is therefore incumbent upon YOU to prove YOUR position. Such is the nature of debate".

Practice what you preach flyboy. You do realise I am going to be quoting this post EVERY time you challenge another members own posts now, don't you? And according to you, it is the challenger that needs to provide the proof.......so let's have it :) Where is your proof?
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

There is no mileage in presenting a sound logical argument, you never do, so why should we.

We can justify what we're saying, your basis for discussion is that you are right unless someone else proves you wrong, and when they do you will just ignore it or deflect the point in case - exhibit a is the post above from you.

I was joking, I was having a jovial conversation based on your 'contribution' to this thread.

It was not a joke at all, it was rude and disrespectful
As for good manners...and respect...I personally thought the comment...

Was incredibly arrogant and rude, you do not know others posting here, despite you're always right way of speaking to others on this forum.

....not much more to say really.

So, now you add a ridiculous faux outrage to your list. :wall:

It was neither arrogant nor rude, it was factual expression.

I probably have been a consumer longer than One Hot Minute (seeing as he/she was working as a student when this phenomenon had apparently been established. When I was a student, shops didn't give refunds, full stop.) and I haven't seen the signs. How can that be anything other than simply reporting the facts?
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark
  • I went in to BHS today to find their changing rooms shut. No wonder that compared to the other shops, their sales crowds were non existent. How many people are willing to buy loads of clothes without trying any on?! Ridiculous idea.

Then your apologies have been accepted in the vein it was intended, I hope that my response has not offended you, if it has, then I too apologise. :)

Factual expression? You then said it was 'probably'...how factual that is...Based on assumption...proves the quality of your 'facts'.

There's no faux outrage here with anything other than your inability to accept you constantly refuse to substantiate the posts you make as you are some how better than all of us and it is up to us to disprove you.

I won't be apologising for being 'rude' and 'disrespectful' because I am not and I was not...Still no proof huh?

Tell that to all the people who queue up for the Next sale or the M&S sale. As I said in my earlier post this is now common practice for most big department stores during the mad shopper frenzy called the Boxing Day/January sales.

No, it's a ridiculous idea to allow a never ending queue of people to form through the shop. I went to a large River Island shop a couple of Boxing dyas ago and was surprised the changing rooms were shut, but when I thought about it, it made perfect sense.

  • I've seen these signs in the local BHS and numerous other stores in the run up to Christmas - seems a standard affair. Just because the OPs husband didn't see them doesn't mean they don't apply!

I know it's a pain - but fully understandable. That said - I found that larger branches of the same store will continue to allow returns, as they will often have a dedicated returns / customer service desk.
I found this with M&S - went to 1 branch which were unable to process a return, but found myself at a larger one where they were happy to do so at the cs desk - and expected a huge queue but was the only person there! Great CS as far as I'm concerned! (I've previously written to M&S HO regarding this branch and their fab staff - always been great!)

    Hi all,

Time for a reminder while I close the thread and wait for the Forum Team to review it...

That’s the forum motto. Remember the prime aim is to help provide info and resources. If you don’t like someone, their situation, their question or feel they’re intruding on ‘your board’ then please bite the bullet and think of the bigger issue... a Guardian article recently “doffed its cap” to this forum as being the one place where consumers can collect together and fight back, our job is to help keep it that way.
