Honeywell CM927 - help needed please

We had a new boiler installed last week and with it a Honeywell 327 wireless thermostat which the engineer showed me how to work and all was well until now - welll maybe....
We are currently experiencing really strong winds and along with this constant power outages - we've had 12+ cuts today already. They only last seconds but it's still off then back on.
I popped my head in the cupboard where the heating controls are and am a bit alarmed to see the little green light on the panel there is off. Now it says on the box and in thje manual that it auto connects when the power is restored but the engineer told me the green light would never go off. The heating isn't on right now anyway as the house is warm enough.
The reason I'm really concerned is that we are off on holiday tomorrow and I know there will be power cuts while we are away. We've had to install a generator to provide power but we can only run this when we are physically here. I'm concerned that the heating will go off at the first power cut (which could be as early as tomorrow) and there will be no heat for the 2+ weeks we are away.
Should I (and how can I) just turn off this whole thermostat thing and revert back to my old controls (which are still there to heat the water) or does anyone have any other suggestions?
Sorry if I'm rambling, I'm just a little panicked that we seem to have a last minute problem I didn't expect:o
Thanks

Great little thermostat controller
Lift the panel and on the right, slide the switch down to OFF when you are away.
Should be OK.
You could change to Holiday setting if you feel that it would suit.

Thanks - the engineer extolled the virtues of the "holiday" setting and I was quite sure that was what I would be using but the fact that the green light has gone off has made me worry that the sutoconnect after a power cut isn't working as it should.
The engineer was due back on Friday for a follow up visit but cancelled so will be back once I return from holiday.
I think I will turn the controller to "off" and revert back to my old controls while we are away. It's not ideal, as I'd hoped to have a more constant but lower heat rather than heating blasting for 4/5 hours a day but at least I know my old controls work and I don't have to rely on this green light thing resetting.0 -
The green light on the receiver indicates that there is a demand for heat - if its off, the boiler is off. http://help.tradingdepot.co.uk/heating/honeywell/cm-927-user-guide.pdf - page 17:What does it mean when the HC60NG relay box green LED is ON?
Green LED indicates normal operation of the radio frequency system. When the
green LED is ON the boiler is also ON. When the LED is OFF the boiler is OFF.0 -

You say your house is warm and the boiler is off - so the light is off too. What the engineer said is wrong.
He was slightly confusing in that he said the boiler would never be "off" again as it would always be ready just to power up at any point. The house has been warm most of the day as it's quite mild here just now and although the radiators have been hot to touch the green light has not been on any of the times I've checked. If he had made the follow up call on Friday that was one of my questions, it's just unfortunate we are going away which is what has prompted my concern, well that and the constant power outages. I'll keep an eye on it for the next few hours as the house is cooling down now and see what happens.
panic over - the green light has come back on - it would appear I've been fretting needlessly. Maybe I will use the holiday setting after all - thanks all for your help.0 -
Fear not, my Honeywell wireless thermostat loses connection with the boiler if the power goes off.
I have to moved the boiler setting to run, let it kick in off the thermostat and set it back to timer and it's back to normal, so it's likely to be something and nothing that happens with each power loss.0
