Lack of Communication from Seller

I've heard several people on hear stress the importance of keeping the buyer informed about what's going on. Unfortunately, I always seem to buy off the non- communicators. I won an item a week ago. Its the most I've spent on EBay ( £200). I paid at once with Paypal. Apart from the automatic invoice I haven't heard from the seller. I've E mailed him twice as its a large item and I want to be in when it arrives. He hasn't replied and hasn't left feedback. Yes I checked his feedback ( 100% and very good reports)
Have I a right to be concerned?
Thanks

Hmmmm - its so rude when people dont even bother to reply to emails!! Perhaps email him again and stress your concerns, are you using the button in ebay or his actual email address?? Use both as I have had some sellers tell me to only use one method or the other - IMO you'll get the item but he seems like one of those people who isn't going to be hassled about stuff like people emailing him (!!!) and will send it when he's good and ready...
Really annoying as a buyer huh!
Good luck

I would normally say don't worry as it is probably in the post and you've probably got one of those lazy sellers who can't be bothered with a one line e mail letting you know all is well.
HOwever...as it is such a large amount if I was you I would certainly want to put my mind at ease. Get his contact details and give him a call, you can always say you weren't sure your emails were getting through or something and just wanted to make sure all was OK.
If there are any problems with the contact details, or if you can't raise him on the phone after a reasonable amount of time, 24-36 hours, then start a paypal chargeback to protect yourself. That should trigger a response!

Many thanks to both of you.
A couple of questions;
1) How do I obtain his number?
2) I've just noticed he isn't verified, shouldn't he be as a seller?
3) I've checked the Paypal site and it says I'm covered for upto £500 is this not the case?
4) I paid by credit card so I assume there might be some cover there?
Thanks again. It s worrying, I've been robbed once when paying by cheque and I'm not sure the safest way to pay any more.0 -
Soolin how do I get his contact details? he did E mail me 2 days ago and said the item would arrive yesterday and He'd E mail again with the tracking number. He hasn't and it hasn't arrived. I understand you can't start a claim till 10 days are up. The guy's still selling and still getting positive feedback. If it wasn't such a large amount of money I wouldn't be that worried, but communication costs nothing.soolin wrote:I would normally say don't worry as it is probably in the post and you've probably got one of those lazy sellers who can't be bothered with a one line e mail letting you know all is well.

Party Animal,
This is probably the long winded way of getting the contact details, no doubt someone will givw you a shortcut version soon, but I thought you might be waiting for this!
Log into your ebay account and then into 'Buy'. Once in BUY click on advanced search and then on the left hand margin you get a box and near the bottom of that box there is the option for obtaining another members contact details.
You will need to have the user id of the member and the item number that you have bought from him. The contact details will be with you in a few minutes after you request them. He will also get a copy of the email that will also show your contact details.
I also thought you could start the paypal claim after 7 days, I'll log in and have a look and get back to you if I am wrong.
