Rewiring the lighting and bathroom

Just moved into an old house and the lighting mains have no earth.
I want to get this sorted as we have lots of metal light fittings. I'm told that running an earth is as much work as rewiring so I'm getting quotes for that.
Had a quote from a chap we've used for small jobs before (he's OK but tends to find "extra" work whenever he does anything).
His quote is as follows:
Bonding Gas Main: £170
Bonding Water Main: £150
Earth box: £25
Rewire First Floor Lighting: £650
Rewire Ground Floor Lighting: £720
Install and supply six spots in bathroom: £333
Bathroom Bonding: £90
Install and supply extractor fan: £195
New light and socket in attic: £85
The rewiring doesn't seem bonkers but the bathroom and bonding seems expensive.
Any comments, feel rather out of my depth with electrical work.
Cheers

Seems dear, I am rewiring a house this week for £2000.
No spots, but new consumer unit and all bonding is included.
As far as the post relating to a registered electrician, it helps cut out the cowboys.
Get another quote, but more importantly seek a registered person to do mthe work. Makes things simpler when selling, and helps ensure building regs compliance.
