Leak from washing machine

My washing machine has been leaking underneath for some time everytime I do the washing. I just wiped it off and do not think anything about it. This morning I came in the kitchen and there is water everywhere, I have closed the taps and there is still leak, it seems there is a pool of water underneath. I have tried to pull washing machine out but cannot do it without ripping the lineo. I do not know whether to call plumber or engineer as I cannot investigate what's wrong behind. Can anybody helps pl? Thanks

To avoid tearing the lino, you can slide the washing machine onto a sheet of hardboard:
Wickes Hardboard
It's available at all hardware/DIY stores. If you buy the type with a smooth surface on one side, it is easier to glide your washing machine out.
Raise the front of the washing machine first, slide the hardboard underneath (rough side up) and push it up to the back feet. Then put the washing machine down and proceed to slide the washing machine fully onto the hardboard.
You should then be able to glide it out easier when all four feet are on the hardboard.
You can leave the washing machine on the hardboard to make it easier to move in the future. If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!0 -
If your lucky you could find its just a split in one of the Rubber hoses, may be from the pump.
You'll need to turn the water off that feeds the M/C, Get the M/C out and turn it on its side to look underneath or you may need to take the back off.
If you can get a spare hose its not too difficulty a job.
I'm no expert but I have done this job.0 -
have you checked your filter at the front, make sure its clean and not blocked with coins (or anything else), I've had this causing water to "leak", next would be check the hoses at the back, as has been suggested, hope it is something simple.Debt Free Dec 2009non-smoker 19th Nov 2010Trying to lose weight 40lb/42lb
