Forgive the basic travel insurance question

When comparing travel insurance policies are the listed benefits per person or in total? I've yet to see a policy which makes this clear.
So if a policy has a cancellation benefit amount listed as £3000, is that per person covered under the policy or is that the total payment for the whole group?

If in doubt check with the insurance company. Normally it is per person but if it is a free cover then it may be differentAll posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

Thank you. I decided to call them to confirm and yes, the benefits ARE per person. I've seen one policy which states this, every other one has not. I wonder why this isn't made clearer.

One of the main problems is the fact that documents are written by insurance experts who probably have worked in the industry for years. When you deal with something day in day out it becomes difficult to realise what is obvious to the lay person and what isnt... if absolutely everything was in a policybook to cover all eventualities assuming 0 knowledge of insurance in the person buying you would have an encyclopaedia sized bookAll posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
