Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.50 - FileHippo.com and install. UPDATE definitions (UPDATE tab, click CHECK FO UPDATS). Run a FULL SCAN, remove everything it finds and post log here.
Probably/ Hopefully no nasties on the computer but better to check. Also the log looks fine from an infection point of view but hopefully closed can say what can go.0 -
did you install cleanmem?
in control panel, click the java icon, advanced, misc - untick java quick starter, and untick place icon in system tray. Disable error reporting - control panel, system, advanced, error reporting, select disable error reporting and leave notify me when a critical error occurs ticked.
If there is only 192MB installed, check the price of an upgrade http://www.crucial.com/uk/
disable these from startup using msconfig startup tab

Thank you for your help. Just to prove how stupid I am, it really is embarassing. Went to control panel but have no Java icon. Sorry about this I know it will be something simple that I am missing as usual. I have managed to disable error reporting etc as you advised. Dont want to continue with the rest until I get the Java thing sorted. I did install cleanmen. Many thanks.0

Went to control panel but have no Java icon.
Then it's quite possible that Java is not installed, you could double check by looking to see if it's in Control Panel > Add/Remove programs
It's usually needed for some websites to function properly, i.e. some of the moving bits/games. But mostly you can manage without it, I do.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
java tweak isn't essential, but you could search the c drive for javacpl.exe and run it if there is no icon in control panel!!

Ram msconfig bit could only find Adobe there were others but not ones that you quoted so left them. Now have config window after start up telling me about changes etc with a tick box if I dont want to see window at each startup. It is sayig start up in diagnostic / etc is this ok. Apolofies for being so stupid and many thanks for your help.0
