just briefly my hubby had alot of money in the co-operative bank some within the last 6 years as he took it out he got charged a hell of alot of money it was in some sort of account and they explained it was like a pie and for every chunk he wihdrew he was charged alot for instance if he withdrew 2 k they charged him an extra 1 and half k we didnt know this till the last chunk was taken out is it possibkle to reclaim any of this?

To be charged £1500 to withdraw £2000 of your own money doesn't sound right. What did it say on the statement for each of these charges.

  • it was like a piece of cake apparently and if we took one slice we got charged so much but if we took a fraction over that slice then the charge was higher still i dont know what the statments said as it was a while ago and to behonest we were so fickle with cash we didnt even look all i do know is his mam put in about 30k and we didnt get as much as that back it was after 9/11 that the charges started
  • If that is the case, then no these are not the type of bank charges you can reclaim.
