Sounds daft, but you could try an ioniser or air purifier in the worst effected rooms. I am always amazed at the dust attracted to my ioniser, it's obviously not going to pick up all the dust, but it seems to help it fall out of the air. I assume you have a vacuum that has a Hepa filter as these have finer filtration. My Mind wanders, if found please return.0

I'll second that - we blew the motor on our vacuum with plaster dust. Wash the filter frequently!0 -
I'd agree with Tucker, a few posts above.
Been there a few times, seen it , got the T shirt etc.
There is no magic formula. It is a frustrating annoying thing but it's a matter of carefully wiping down again and again.Try and keep what windows/doors open you can and seal up/shut doors to non-dusty clean rooms.
You will get there but not after a few grey hairs and maybe turning to alcohol !!
I wouldn't waste my time with air dusters - they could just blow the dust to another surface.

If dust is a continuing problem, try using an industrial air filter, works down to 0.04 micron. Try http://www.abrasivesplus.com/epages/abrasivesplus.storefront/4ef9b0f40022032e27410a022f020581/Product/View/214900

I've started cleaning up after a lot of building work in my house, and there was dust everywhere, much of it very fine. I used a soft paint brush to dust off skirting boards, and door frames, and a hand brush to sweep dust into piles, which the Dyson cleared up. I don't think the Dyson would do the business with the normal attachment, or the main sweeper. I had to use the small nozzle, hence why I swept dust into piles. It's amazing how much dust a hand brush could scrape out of the screed floors. I reckon a hand brush and elbow grease is the answer, a normal hoover does not have the suction or the aggression to beat the dust out of the crevices.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0

Crevices - this is where air dusters come in handy. See my posts above. Make sure you wear a mask when using them though otherwise, you'll end up breathing in the small dust particles. If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!0

if you want to get rid of dust , get some sawdust , wet it slightly and then spread it on the surface (obviously not carpets) and any dust will cling to it and can be swept up without creating more dust0
