Hi I would love to join this thread as I need to save up for a few things this year and money is very tight as I'm only a trainee at work so get paid very little!! It would be a great help as I wont have to worry about saving for Xmas on top of a car and deposit for a house!! I'm only 20 (21 in feb) but would love to join in!!
I joined some survey sites last year but never used them so will start doing that!! I also started selling stuff on eBay so can carry on doing that!! I'm also working to qualify so I get paid a full wage at work which would be great but not towards Xmas saving!!

  • Hi, I would like to join this challenge too. Ideally I am looking to increase income during 2012 to enable me to fund Christmas 2012 entirely. I have always saved for this but will stop that and use funds elsewhere. I am aiming for £500 but that seems a lot to achieve. Anyway, will give it a go.

I would really appreciate a copy of the spreadsheet - thanks very much.

    Best wishes Tilly

Kayandy - I wish my daughter would take a lesson from you - she's 21 in April. She needs a kick up the bum to get motivated. Welcome to the thread hun.

9Lucky9 - welcome to you too. :) That's what we are here for - to help you earn some money, so you can buy all the bargains Grabbit has to offer. :D You'll be money neutral if you stick at it, so keep posting and we can keep you motivated.

You both need to take your time to read the first few posts and sign up to some sites. There are only a few there, I'll give you a list of some more later. We don't want you to give up before you've started. Take your time, do one or two a day, and if you can ask someone on here to refer you that would be brilliant.

If you have any questions at all - please don't sit there wondering, just ask ok? We've all been there, it hard when you're starting out, but you'll soon get used to it. :D

Samba - no worries hun. I think we are all motivated at the moment. :D I'll send you the list now. It's only sites that I'm on, so there may be a few more we can join. ;)

Tilly - you can do £500 easily - if you stick to it. ;) It's hard work sometimes, but if you keep coming back here, we can help you.

YOU CAN DO IT - but even if you only earn a penny - it's a penny less that you have to find later ;)

Could you pm me your email address, and I can send you the spreadsheet straight away. :)

    Xmas Saver!
I'm planning on getting organised in the next couple of days for 2012, just been very good today (just finished) an OU assisgnment, it was in Thurs, so its done, can have a rest now till Miss Hoodie goes back to school, then its head in books!

Got a couple of presents to regift, very organised and put little tage on them to remind us who they were from, also had some presents left over from this yrs stash.
The plan is to do new list present wise (and to have another cull), and allocate the presents we've got first.

Have had a look at online sales, but nothing has jumped out, popping into town with dad on Fri, see if theres a few bargains left, going to be really good. Just can't wait for Boots 75% sale, thats usually about the 3rd week of Jan, (going by other years), have about £100 with vouchers and points.

Need money this yr, got friends golden wedding in Sept, can't even pretend we've forgotten as Miss Hoodie was born on their Ruby anniversary, then Jan 2013, mum + dads golden wedding, I'm organising wedding renewal, so far got date booked in, got to sort that out,

Miss Hoodie has asked could she go up in a hot air ballon for her 10th bday (that would mean dad would need to go!!, he'd be 1st in the queue). Its def a tight year. But were do it. xx

    Morning all

So many newbies, its brilliant. Just hard to keep up with who has posted what to comment on it.

I had a couple of surveys this morning, the first ones I have seen about. My T points had shot up like someone else said (sorry, cant remember who but thanks for posting).

I had a rude awakening this morning. OH bought himself a new phone yesterday and set the alarm to get him up at 5.15 but then didnt know how to turn it off so he was sitting there with it going off for ten minutes trying to sort it. Ended up having to take it down stairs. The he left for work at 5.45 and I was just dozing off again when the alarm on his old phone went off. He must have set it in case the new one didnt go off. Thing was he had put the old one away somewhere in the bedroom and I could hear it going off but couldnt find it. It stopped after a bit but then ten minutes later it went off again so I gave up and got up. I dont mind an early start though as I have some sewing to do today. I need to make a start on the cushion I have an order for and I want to make myself a case for my Kindle.

I dont think I will get any more reviews done on C before the end of the month so I am going to redeem on there and done with for this month. Total on there is just over £34, the most I have had off there so thank you for those who talked me into doing it.

I might be getting a new phone, the one OH bought yesterday. He had applied online to get a contract phone and hadnt heard back so thought they were not going to let him have it as in the past we have not been able to get contract phones, but he had an email yesterday to say he has to ring up today about it. He said if he gets the new contract phone I can have the other new one. I just need to find a decent payg tariff. I am on O2 at the moment simplicity, and I get 100 mins and unlimited texts for £10 a month. I want to add on the data and not sure how much extra it will cost as on their site they have changed all the simpicity plans since I joined up. YD told me about a site called GiffGaff that gives you a good deal for £10 but I have read that some people find it hard to set their phones up for the internet with their sim cards. Anyone heard of them and know if they are ok or any other good payg deals that will include unlimited texts, some mins, and a data plan? Do any of you know if 500mb of data is enough to last a month for normal smart phone use?
